H Street Corridor Restaurants

Whether you are craving traditional Ethiopian cuisine, southern-inspired seafood, or a taste of the islands, H Street Corridor is home to several restaurants that reflect various cuisines of the world.

Cane

Honoring Trinidad’s multi-ethnic population, Cane delivers a contemporary take on the island’s most popular dishes. This family-owned restaurant is run by brother and sister team Chef Peter Prime and Jeanine Prime.

Dishes such as oxtails served over jasmine rice with cucumber salad and a modern take on jerk chicken wings are favorites at Cane. Guests also savor rum-inspired cocktails from around the Caribbean.

Ethiopic

Ethiopic was the first Ethiopian restaurant on H Street Corridor and is one of very few found in all of the DC area. The unique restaurant’s decor is inspired by Ge’ez’s dignified script, Ethiopian culture, and contemporary style. The spacious, large windowed eatery incorporates traditional Ethiopian cuisine with a modern flair.

By offering vegetarian, meat, poultry, and fish there are options for every palate. Popular dishes include Ethiopic Signature Tibs which feature a boneless leg of lamb marinated and sauteed with jalapeno pepper, red onion, fresh tomato, garlic, rosemary, and spicy herbs, and Doro Key Wot featuring chicken legs simmered in a spicy sauce served with a hard-boiled egg.
