2. Fort Davis, 6.5% forecasted home value growth

Located on the border between Maryland and DC, Fort Davis is known for their neighborhood Fort Davis park located towards the western part of the neighborhood. In the late 1940s, real estate developer Max Sugar built the first 250 homes in this neighborhood as part of a development originally known as "Dupont Village". 3. Greenway, 6.3% forecasted home value growth

If you are a commuter who rides the train to work, this is great neighborhood for you. Listed as one of the top up and coming neighborhoods for 2017, Greenway is mostly occupied by renters but real estate in this area is less expensive than 85% of other Washington DC neighborhoods at this time (according to NeighborhoodScout.com).

4. Woodridge, 6.2% forecasted home value growth

In 2015, Woodridge was named #8 on Redfin's list of the Hottest Neighborhoods of 2015 predictions. This neighborhood is growing in popularity due to more affordable homes and the "quiet neighborhood" feel that many homeowners desire. Residents of the area love the fact that you are living in medium to large, detached homes right outside the city. Located east of Brookland and west of the Maryland border, this neighborhood has seen an increase in young, white and married or coupled professionals moving in within the recent years. There is a large variety of home styles including 6 bedroom bungalows, colonials, craftmans, ranchers and more. See homes for sale in Woodridge

5. Trinidad, 5.7% forecasted home value growth

If you are local to DC you may recognize this neighborhood's name and you even be surprised it made it to the top five list for 2017. Trinidad has had a troubled past and a poor reputation, however, in 2017 the streets are clean and the neighborhood is in development. Many of the Victorian and Craftman-style rowhouses throughout the neighborhood have been converted into condos and according to real estate experts "houses are selling like hot cakes". In September of 2016 the Washington Post even ran an article about Trinidad and its changes - read it here. You'll love living in the area if you are looking for an affordable home with a short walk to night life and restaurants.
